The exhibition will run in Moscow at the Exhibition hall of Federal Archives, running from Tomorrow, May 25th-July 29th 2012. If anyone from Russia/anyone going to Moscow within those months follows this blog and goes there, feel free to send a message saying what it was like! It sounds very interesting.
Hi! I LOVE your site :) I've been interested in the Romanovs for years and just finished reading a biography on Alexandra ("Alexandra" by Carrolly Erickson). I found myself wanting to dig deeper into the history and this blog is INCREDIBLY satiating. Have you ever read that bio? If so, what did you think of it in terms of accuracy?
Hello! Thanks so much, I really appreciate the comment! :)
No, I have not read that biography yet, but I will definitely consider reading it in the future, when I can get my hands on a copy of it.
i live in the Philippines but also I did not believe that the granddaughter of this so called Lola (grandma) Tasia was Nastya. I have been searching about the Romanovs for quite sometime and it was only this year that my interest in them grew more. If you look closely at the picture of Lola Tasia and Nastya side by side, you can tell the difference. I dont even know why our local newspaper would put that story front page. So sad that there are still people claiming to be Nastya's descendant when
Yes, I agree with you 100%. They do not look the slightest bit alike at all, and that was my first thought when I saw the photos side by side.
It is sad they are still claiming, I agree with you, considering that the bones have been found.
Just read it and I am now thinking “Um, no. Why would Anastasia end up in Philippines?!” and the story that is coming from the descendent of this claimant is so, so stupid and silly.
To be honest, IF Anastasia did survive (which she obviously did not) I, myself, could NOT see her ending up in the Philippines, no way and that is my honest and personal opinion. Plus, her bones have long been found, and it was proven that the whole family did NOT survive past July 17th 1918.
So please, people who want to claim they are direct descendents of OTMA or Alexei, PLEASE, NO MORE.
So there is a story going around that someone’s Filipino grandmother was the Grand Duchess Anastasia. Please, for the love of God, stop this nonsense. It is 2012. Even if Anastasia had survived (WHICH SHE DID NOT!) I highly doubt that she would have ended up in the Philippines. This is by far one…
I second this! First I’ve heard of this claim, and its so ridiculous!
